Okay, so The Master Cleanse, as they call it is this hyped about lemonade diet fast consisting of fresh lemons, filtered water, cayenne pepper powder and organic grade B maple syrup. Most people drink this vile concoction as a last resort, hoping to shed the weight they’ve been lugging around for years, without physical strain. Sound good? Think again! Those in it for the long haul risk losing their right minds! As the cleanse can be used as body purification method for a minimum of 10 days (to really get a good clean ^^), many people endure the cleanse for up to 15, 30, or even 40 days! During this time, one may not eat a morsel of food to rid the body and digestive tract of toxins such as pesticides and additives in the foods we eat! This includes fresh fruits and veggies, nuts and oats people! I’ve done my homework and read up on the cleanse and health gurus, personal fitness trainers seem to agree that this method of fasting is quite safe for the average healthy adult, and very effective if followed properly. It’s really all just a matter of keeping your mind right and not giving into temptation.
After having read several reviews and watching others’ successful and unsuccessful journeys on the cleanse (youtube, blogs..), folks, I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and check it out for myself! I am a 20 year old, 5ft 7′ female in alright shape. My vice is food. My father is a chef, and I grew up eating home-cooked meals on a daily basis. My BMI is about 23 which puts me in a “normal” range, 2 points (a lot) shy of being considered overweight. I have absolutely no sense of discipline when it comes to putting crap into my body either. This is definitely going to be difficult. But I am here to try something new, and prove to all those who failed or don’t think they have the strength to do this, that we are capable of doing anything. Granted, I am an apprentice trainer here in New York City and have full access to a gym (it’s my job to work out, show others how to use equipment and train), my results can only speak for me. Everyone is different, everyone’s body will react differently to the cleanse. It is important once you are done with your cleanse to not eat everything in sight (I hope I can respect that) and work out to tone the body. Let’s not flab it people. WISH ME LUCK!
I will be posting daily to track my progress on the cleanse. Tune in to see what happens! Look out for video footage and photographs of me on the cleanse! If you were wondering how long I will be on this cleanse, my answer is still unknown. I’ll start out with 10 days, and if I feel comfortable enough to continue, I will.
